Our vision: Excellence in choral singing.
Tauranga Civic Choir is the city’s longest established mixed-voice auditioned choir.
We are a group of people of mixed ages and from all walks of life, but have in common a love of music and singing. More about us. We generally perform 3-4 concerts a year, with a variety of music. To see the kind of concerts we do, look at our past concerts page. We rehearse on Mondays, 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, at Wesley Methodist Church, Thirteenth Avenue, Tauranga. Our musical director is Nigel Williams. Nigel is an experienced and enthusiastic musician, conductor, and composer, and has been with our choir since 2017. He is currently on leave, so for our 2025 concerts we have guest conductors. Our accompanist is Barbara Caygill, who joined us in 2025. We welcome applications from competent and committed singers, especially tenors and basses. Please note: we are not currently accepting applications from sopranos. The risers we use for our concerts are available for hire - more information. |
